This is where the fun really starts. Don't be intimidated by the idea of on-line play, There are hundreds of players of all, ages, abilities and nationalities on-line.
We have players aged from 8 to 80, from those who are rubbish to people who regularly knock in a 147, We have players from Britain to New Zealand, and pretty much everywhere in between.

Once you have installed QuickSnooker, Just Choose 'Internet Play' on the menus, then 'Internet Waiting Room' and you'll be guided through the process.

The people on-line are polite and friendly (and you will be expected to be too!)

Here's a very quick, rough guide to the waiting room - most of it's pretty obvious, and once you have it up on your screen you can hover the mouse over anything you're not sure about for extra help. A QuickSnooker Internet Waiting room

1) The player grid Shows you who's waiting to play right now.
Red players are 'busy' (waiting for a friend, or just 'hanging out').
The blue player is you !
White Players are ready to accept a challenge for a game.
The yellow player - is the one you have selected (are about to challenge, or want to 'whisper' to)
The little shields - show a player is registered.

2) The challenge button, Does what it says on the tin really - Issues a challenge to the selected player, they are challenged to whatever game you have selected on your table. Don't be offended if your challenge is declined, it's no big deal - some people prefer to play only friends, play only certain types of game - may be waiting for someone in particular or may feel they have a very different skill level to you (better, or worse). Just move on.

3) Block/Unblock - If you find a particular player annoying or offensive - or you just plain don't get on - you can block them, you will no longer see their messages, and they will no longer be able to challenge you. If they're posting offensive stuff about you out of your sight it will be dealt with by the moderators.
Please DO use the block feature rather than get into arguments with people - You can even just use it to 'filter' conversations in a busy room - just remember to unblock people at the end.

4)Buy It Now/Website button
For your comfort and convenience...

5)My Status Box
Important one this - It's where you set wether you appear 'busy' or 'free' - remember, people can't challenge you if you're busy - it's polite to set yourself to busy if you're going to leave your PC for a while (or better still to log out - just close the window)

6)Games in progress
Shows the games currently being played - The Player 'up' is on the left, his current break is in brackets( ), His score (not including his break) is next, - then the 'seated' played - and his score.
The live scores are generally only a few seconds old.

7)Recent Players List
See who's been on-line recently and how long ago - remember you'll appear in here too!

8)The Noticeboard
Communal chat appears here, you can post messages here - things can move pretty quickly when it gets busy.
when you 'log in' the board shows the last 50 'posts' - *whilst* you remain 'in' the room, new posts are tacked on the end. If you want to read earlier posts, or stop the scrolling - tick the small box in the bottom right, you can then use the scroll bar sensibly - REMEMBER to 'untick' the box !

9) Colour Balls
Use these babies to colour your messages and brighten up peoples dull lives.

10)The Message pad
Compose your message here - Nobody sees it until you press 'Post' (EVERYONE will see it) or 'Whisper' (only the player selected in yellow on the grid on the left will see it)
DON'T post offensive material - it will be removed and you might be banned - and BE CAREFUL who you have selected when you whisper - you wouldn't want to embarrass yourself in public !

11) Shred
If you've posted something you wish you hadn't, You can take it back down again with the shred button.
BUT DON'T:-
a) Post offensive/aggressive/illegal (Etc,etc, yada yada) messages in the first place
b) Think you can get away with a) because you can shred it (it's ALL logged).
c) Bother shredding and reposting messages for simple typo's - the entire message board is resent to everyone whenever anyone shreds anything - which is annoying and 'expensive' in bandwidth - if your message is unintelligible or plain wrong, sure shred and repost it - just don't do it willy nilly.

12) Smiley Button
Express your emotions/vent your spleen/entertain the masses by adding 'smileys' to your message - they're fun and as everyone has them cached 'cheap'
